PIPE PLUG IMMERSION HEATERS
Tubular heaters or Mighty-Blade elements are brazed or welded in a brass, steel or stainless steel pipe plug. Ratings from 350 watts to 38kw and numerous variations and options are available. Pipe plug immersion heaters are generally used in small to medium size containers at pressures up to 3000 psi and are screwed directly through a threaded opening in the tank wall.

Application (see: Application Guide, Watt Density Guide and Corrosion Guide)

Screw Plug Size (NPT)
Info, Stock, Pricing & Purchase click on size shown below

Copper Elements, Brass Screw Plug, High Watt Density:

Clean water heating (less than 1% solution of alkaline or acid).

1" 1 1/4" 2" 2 1/2"

Incoloy Elements, SS Screw Plug, High Watt Density:

Solution water heating (less than 6% solution of alkaline or acid). For use in severe industrial process and solution water where the high nickel content of the Incoloy elements will resist corrosion.

    2" 2 1/2"

Stainless Steel Elements and Plug, High Watt Density:
Process water heating (less than 3% solution of alkaline or acid). For use in soap and detergent solutions, soluble cutting oils,
demineralized or deionized water (specify passivation).

1" 1 1/4" 2" 2 1/2"

Incoloy Elements, SS Screw Plug, Medium Watt Density:

Corrosive solution heating (less than 25% concentration), also can  be used to heat air and other gases where sheath temperature is
       limited to 1500 deg. F.

1"  1 1/4" 2" 2 1/2"

Steel Elements and Plug, Medium Watt Density:

Lighweight oil heating, heat transfer oils, hydraulic oils etc.

1" 1 1/4" 2" 2 1/2"

Incoloy Elements, SS Screw Plug, Low Watt Density:

Severe corrosive solution (up to 50% concentration)

    2" 2 1/2"

Steel Elements and Plug, Low Watt Density:
Medium weight oils such as gear oils, fuel oils, and other materials where low watt density is required.

    2" 2 1/2"

Be certain that the sheath material and watt density selected are compatible with the material being heated and the operating temperature.
